Armed robberies swoop nets fourth charge

A fourth person has been charged in relation to a series of armed robberies in Greater Manchester.

Mohammed Fareed (aged 46) of Lorne Street, Oldham, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and three breaches of a serious crime prevention order.

He has been remanded to appear at Tameside Magistrates Court later today (Thursday).

This charge comes following a strike day in the Oldham area yesterday (Wednesday).

These strikes were conducted as part of an investigation in to a series of armed robberies following false advertisements on the online auction website, Ebay.

During the strikes, a further two people – aged 18 and 26 – were arrested and have been bailed pending further investigation.

Three people were previously charged in connection with this investigation on Sunday, February 16 and are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday (March 16).

They are Debra Brooker (aged 41) of Block Lane, Mohammed Nazir (22) of Manley Road and Adam Marco (19) of Kent Street – all from the Oldham area – who have been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Previously two men – aged 43 and 24 – were released under investigation.
