Action Together launches vital fund-raising appeal and response fund

Date published: 06 April 2020

Action Together, the community and voluntary sector organisation for Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside, has now launched its fundraising appeal and its Covid-19 Community Response Fund to provide groups in these areas with urgent funding.

All the money raised will go to local groups and charities to help them continue to provide vital support.

Action Together is asking the public to take action to help those who are in desperate need of help.

From the vulnerable and older people, to local foodbanks and mental health groups, donate to this campaign and do your bit to help.

Your donation could help to provide telephone advice, support and companionship for older people to prevent them from feeling isolated during self-isolation, or it could help a local foodbank to provide food parcels to more homes than ever before.

By donating, you could help a community group support local people.

You can donate to the emergency community response to the coronavirus appeal here:

Meanwhile, funding is also now available in response to coronavirus.

Action Together have launched a Covid-19 Community Response Fund.

The fund is available for groups from the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector working on a community response to coronavirus in Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside and Glossop.

Applications must meet either of these priorities:

We want to connect local community action and help to co-ordinate efforts in response to the needs of residents.

We are especially interested in funding good neighbour, mutual aid and social action projects that directly help people affected by the effects of the virus

We also want to support the community, voluntary, faith and social enterprise sector to respond with new ideas that help, connect or support people through this crisis

Applications for the Community Response Fund are split into two: up to £200, or up to £1,000.

Action Together are also sharing other funding available in response to coronavirus.
