How much funding local councils have to support small businesses

Oldham Council have been given £54,738,000 to help support local businesses
The government has set aside over £12bil to support small local businesses during the coronavirus crisis.
The business grant scheme was announced at the Budget on the 11th of March where money would be available for small businesses and those in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors.
The Small Business Grant fund means that those that are eligible will receive a payment of £10,000.
The Government is asking councils to make payments as quickly as possible to "provide a lifeline" to struggling businesses.
The money available in Tameside. Rochdale and Oldham is as follows:
- Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council - £54,738,000
- Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council - £46,660,000
- Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council - £53,810,000
You are able to apply if your business pays little or no Business Rates is eligible for Small Business Rate Relief (SBBR) or Rural Rate Relief.
You can apply via your local council's website and they will assess whether you are able to receive the funding.
