Oldham's Mayor Ginny Alexander has paid a warm-hearted tribute to the retiring High Sheriff of Greater Manchester.
She described Mark Adlestone as being a great ambassador for Oldham and “was very supportive of its people.”
She said: ”Mark has become a true friend during my Mayorship and has supported me and I have enjoyed showing him my community.
“And a huge thank you for your generous donations to Inspire Women Oldham (http://inspirewomenoldham.co.uk) and Oldham Street Angels, as well as my Mayor’s Appeal Fund.
“We wish you and your family well for the future and look forward to meeting up again."
Mr Adlestone has passed on the reigns to Eamonn O'Neal, Chief Executive of St Ann’s Hospice and previously Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester for six years.
