One minute silence to remember the key workers we've lost
Date published: 28 April 2020

The minute of silence will take place at 11am
The UK will fall silent this morning in tribute to key workers who have died in the coronavirus pandemic.
More than 90 NHS and care staff have passed away with Covid-19.
There have also been loses within other key sectors such as the transport sector.
Boris Johnson, who returned to work after being in hospital with the virus, will lead the commemorations at 11am this morning.
It coincides with International Workers' Memorial Day (28th April 2020).
During this silence, we're being encouraged to take a moment to pause and think about those who have died doing their job, but also to think about those who continue to put their health at risk on the frontline.
That includes the refuse collectors, the armed forces, the teachers and support staff, those who are maintaining our infrastruacture and workers providing food and essentials to us all - just to name a few.
Taking this time to reflect is one small way we can show our gratitude.
