Police appeal following head-on collision

Police are appealing for information following a collision in which an eight-year-old girl was injured.

At around 8.40am yesterday (Monday), police were called to reports of a collision on Matley Lane in Hyde.

Officers attended and established that an Audi A3 and Vauxhall Astra had been involved in a head-on collision.

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

An eight-year-old girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

No arrests have been made.

An investigation is underway.

PC Karl Horner, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This incident sadly resulted in a man and child being injured.

"Our thoughts are with their families at this time.

“An investigation is underway and I would like to use this opportunity to appeal to anyone with information or dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident or shortly before to get in touch."
