Despite not being able to rehearse for the past couple of months, Uppermill Band have been busy during lockdown.

Uppermill Band have recorded a musical tribute to all key workers, as grateful thanks for all they are doing to keep us safe.

This 'concert in the living room' was recorded by individual players in lockdown and brought together using the wonders of modern technology.

Everyone can now enjoy the performance of 'Under The Boardwalk', which includes the band's own key workers and features John Whittle on flugel horn.

Watch the performance on video (below).

Individual members of Uppermill Band have been playing from their own doorsteps, adding a musical element to the weekly 'Clap for Carers' throughout Saddleworth, and several band members performed the Last Post as part of local VE 75 events earlier in the month.

In addition to being musically active during the past few weeks, members of Uppermill Band have been volunteering to make face shields for carers.

This volunteer group was co-ordinated by Bexan Ltd and produced 5,000 face shields which were distributed to 150 different care providers.
