Holiday flight drama

An Oldham woman returning to the UK with her disabled mother witnessed a drama minutes after the plane from Tenerife landed at Manchester airport on Friday.

The woman, who captured the expletive-filled incident on video but asked to remain anonymous, said: “A man had been drinking heavily during the whole flight and interrupting neighbouring passengers with wild guffaws as he was watching films while sitting alone.

“When it came to the time to leave the plane, he wanted to push past everyone to get off first but the doors weren’t open.

“The air hostess had just advised everyone saying that due to Covid restrictions, we have to respect departing the plane by row number order.

“He ignored that and wanted to get past everyone to get off.

"That’s when he started shouting and hurling abuse at passengers that were also waiting to get off.

"Due to my mum being a special assistance wheelchair passenger, we remained seated and filmed the man being abusive.

“When we finally got inside the airport, there were border patrol agents and police all over the place.

“The passenger was being interviewed by the police, then was led out of the airport crying after being detained for his actions.”
