No trick or treating allowed in Oldham this year

Halloween will look a little different this year
It's sad news for little ghosts and witches across Oldham this year as Tier 3 restrictions will prevent them heading out to Trick or Treat.
It's because the restrictions mean that you can't mix with other households indoors or in private outdoor spaces.
According to spokesperson for Boris Johnson, knocking on someone's door would count as private property.
Greater Manchester Police say they won't be targeting trick or treaters specifically, but they will continue with their 4Es approach over Halloween.
That means they will engage with people, explain the situation, encourage people to do the right thing and comply with government guidelines and only take enforcement action as a last resort.
We know some of you will be concerned about Trick or Treaters visiting this Halloween, particularly if you’re self-isolating.

A spokesperson for Oldham Council said:
"The Very High restrictions the government has placed on Greater Manchester mean Trick or Treating is not allowed in the region this year.
"In Oldham we are encouraging people to mark the occasion in other ways such as designing a Pumpkin poster by visiting http://www.oldham.gov.uk/halloween”
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are leading the multi-agency preparation over the weekend.
