An international costume designer from Uppermill has added her voice to the tributes being paid to comedian Bobby Ball, who died this morning.

Adele Michinson from Uppermill worked with the comedy duo in panto.

"It’s very sad news," she said. "I do panto every year and last year did Peter Pan at The Lyceum in Crewe with Cannon and Ball. I have also worked on other things with them over the years.

"Not only are both Tommy and Bobby incredibly talented they were fabulous to work with.

"I worked closely with Bobby and did all his quick changes — he was a lovely kind funny person. He adored his wife Yvonne and family and spoke about them all the time, he was also a committed Christian.

"He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and  those who feel like they know him through his amazing performances in theatres, TV and film. Aside from the comedy he was really gifted musically.

"The last time I spoke to him was only a few weeks ago - he will be much missed by many people."

She added: "He really was a lovely man - I was supposed to be doing panto with them again this year - it was Bobby who asked the producer for me to come back again to them again this year in Crewe but obviously the panto was cancelled (normally we get sent all over).

"I always get show shoes done by the Smith Brothers cobblers in Oldham market and got Tommy and Bobby to do a photo for them — that’s why they are pointing at there shoes pulling faces," she quipped.
