A 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy have been charged with two counts of criminal damage to police vehicles

Two teenagers have been charged after an incident which saw two police vehicles criminally damaged.

A 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy from Ancoats who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with two counts of criminal damage to police vehicles.

Both boys have been bailed with conditions to appear before Manchester and Salford Youth Court on Monday, November 30.

At around 2.25am last Monday (October 26), a British Transport Police car was out on patrol driving down Great Ancoats Street in Manchester when two teenagers threw objects at the car which caused damage to the rear lights.

About 15 minutes later, a different police van was responding to an incident.

As the van drove down Great Ancoats Street, two teenagers threw objects at it which caused damage the van and cracked the windscreen.
