Who is this hooded figure?
This shadowy figure taking a carefully crocheted Christmas tableau from a post box has upset a community.
The removal of the colourful display at Grotton was captured on a few seconds of CCTV.
It shows a hooded figure cooly lifting the display which included a snowman, Christmas tree and Christmas lights off the top of the post box.
The Christmas scene was created by local crafting champion Sammyjo Taylor, and when it appeared was roundly applauded by locals.
Now Sammyjo has posted on social media: “I’m just wondering if anyone knows what’s happened to the post cover in Grotton?
“I was going to take it off and clean it and add to it for next year, but I’ve just noticed it’s been taken.
"I did a lot of weaving the wool around and I put the string lights on there so it was tight.
"If it’s gone it will be ruined.”
Now in an angry backlash locals are expressing dismay that the scene has disappeared.
