Running man Paul Gladwell from Diggle
A dedicated senior school professional is using all his self discipline skills to raise money for Dr Kershaw's Hospice.
Because before Paul Gladwell from Diggle begins his exacting task as Assistant Principle at Silver Springs Primary Academy in Stalybridge, he clocks up the miles for the charity.
“He aims to run and walk 268 miles this month,” said his proud wife and mother of three, Ali, “starting at 5.30am before work or at weekends.
“He works so hard (at work) and has done since this all began, but wanted to do something to support Dr Kershaw's and he loves running.
“He's an ultra runner and keen follower of big races.
"The number 268 is from the Virtual Spine race.
“The Spine had to be cancelled this year and is an Endurance Race that is 268 miles along the Pennines Way and crosses over the moors near Brunclough.
“In truth, Paul has never done it but we have been to cheer on competitors."
Paul is accompanied on his daily mission by the family’s pet dog, Barney.
