Traffic 'chaos' hits Denshaw

The 'chaotic' traffic scene earlier this afternoon

Traffic converging on Saddleworth’s most isolated village have brought chaos across the community today, with queues backing for several miles in each direction.

Motorist David Wheeler, who took the picture (above), said:”The closure of the M62 motorway, plus gas works in Denshaw itself, has brought traffic in all directions to a standstill.

“The traffic has backed up to Grains Bar and Milnrow in another direction.

"It’s chaos,” he declared.
