Hair salon owner Darren's five-star delight!

Date published: 26 March 2021

Darren Mitzi, from Darren Michael Hairdressing in Oldham, is celebrating after the Good Salon Guide recognised his business as a five-star Hair Salon.

Darren's business will also feature in the Good Barber's Guide and has been recognised for being a Covid Aware salon.

The Good Salon Guide, the only independent guide to quality standards in hairdressing in the UK and Ireland, is the easiest and most reliable means of checking out the best salons in any area.

Recognised salons are visited and objectively assessed by top industry professionals, giving potential clients confidence in their choice.

Salons are regularly reassessed to ensure standards are maintained so membership is seen as good as a personal recommendation.

High Crompton-based Darren has owned the salon since 2004 after taking over from his father, who in turn started the business in Royton back in 1974.

Darren has been a hairdresser since 1988 and trained at his father’s Hair Training Academy in Oldham.

He said: “Being a member of the Good Salon Guide shows we are a fantastic salon in every way.

“It’s great not only for our clients, but for our team to know the salon has reached such high standards.

“It makes us all very excited about the future of our salon.

“We are so looking forward to re-opening on April 12 (all being well) and the team are in the middle of calling all our clients on the priority list and getting ready to open.

“We have put in place our Covid policies and procedures in the salon to keep everyone safe.

“The team have worked hard this year to keep each other, our clients and our community safe, so to receive the Covid Aware award from the Good Salon Guide alongside the five star hair salon rating is a testament to their efforts and customer care.

“We are looking forward to seeing all our clients in the salon again and moving forward positively in the future after a difficult year for everyone in the hair industry.

“My best wishes goes to every hairdresser who is starting again in April.”
