Lockdown restrictions will see pubs, hairdressers, gyms and non-essential retail open from today.

The next phase in lockdown restriction lifting will see a host of pubs, hairdressers, restaurants, gyms, non-essential retail and other services open from today, Monday April 12.

One of the biggest changes will see people being able to go for a pint and a meal outdoors at their favourite venues, where they are operating outdoor service.

Non-essential retail stores have been gearing up to welcome back shoppers from today.

Another welcome reopening will be hairdressers across the borough, for those desperately in need of a trim.

Beauty salons and nail bars will also be allowed customers. Spas will be allowed to reopen, but that doesn't include saunas or steam rooms, which will reopen at the next phase of lockdown lifting (if conditions are met).

Government guidelines also state that restrictions on libraries and community centres, along with theme parks and zoos can be lifted from today, as easing measures remain on track.

Members of the same household can also take a holiday in England in self-contained accommodation.

However The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson is continuing to urge caution, with no changes to social contact rules and many restrictions still in place.

Outdoor gatherings must still be limited to 6 people or 2 households.

You must also not socialise indoors with anyone you do not live with or have not formed a support bubble with.

Let us know if you're planning a long awaited reunion, or your establishment is reopening today.
