There was an increase in thefts from motor vehicles across Saddleworth earlier this week
A spate of thefts has prompted Saddleworth police to issue a warning to local car owners.
A statement on the GMP Saddleworth and Lees Facebook page read: “Between the 16th and 17th May there has been an increase in thefts from motor vehicles across Saddleworth.
“Offenders have gained entry by smashing the passenger side window before taking items left in the vehicles.
“Please do not leave items on view in your car if left unattended and if possible, empty your glove compartment and leave it open to show possible offenders there are no items to take.”
