Police appeal for witnesses following daytime robbery with machetes in Mossley

Large quantities of cash and jewellery were stolen
Police are appealing for information following a business robbery in Mossley.
At around 9.25am last Saturday (June 19), police received a report of an armed robbery at a business premises on Argyle Street.
Officers attended and enquiries established that two men had knocked on the door and, once inside, assaulted the business owner several times whilst demanding that he opened the safe.
The men emptied the contents of the safe and till in to a bag before fleeing on foot.
Large quantities of cash and jewellery were stolen.
One of the men is described as being white and of an average build.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing black clothing/ accessories and carrying a large machete.
The other is also described as being of an average build.
He was also wearing black clothing/ accessories - including black tracksuit bottoms with a red logo and stripes on the outer lower leg.
He was also carrying a large machete as well as a light blue shopping bag with a lemon on it.
DC Angela Brown, of GMP's Tameside district, said: "The victim of this armed robbery has, understandably, been left scared.
"We are supporting him and doing everything we can to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
"The incident happened in broad daylight near a busy junction and market, where a large car boot sale was taking place, so we know that there were a good number of people in the vicinity at the time.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who can help us identify these men or has any other information which may assist us with our investigation to contact us.
