Two mountain rescue teams combined operations to assist a man who suffered chest pains while walking at Higher Swineshaw reservoir near Stalybridge on Saturday.
Oldham Mountain Rescue Team received an alert from neighbours Glossop Mountain Rescue Team, who themselves had been asked by North West Ambulance Service to assist with the casualty.
Said Rob Tortoiseshell, OMRT leader: “Although the location was just In our area, both teams responded due to the nature of the casualty’s symptoms.
“Both teams arrived at the same time as the NWAS ambulance and stood by to assist while the casualty was treated by NWAS paramedics.
"Fortunately, he was assessed as having no serious illness or injuries and was well enough to be able to be driven home by his walking partner for further recuperation.”
Eight OMRT and five GMRT personnel were involved for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
