A talented young wildlife photographer from Oldham has shared his amazing work with the older generation at the Royley House care home in Royton.
Ben Harrott has presented the care home with one of his favourite images to display in their recently renovated reception area.
The residential care home is run by Rochcare, and provides care for people aged 65 and over, those with age related difficulties and living with dementia.
The 14 ladies and gentlemen currently living at Royley House enjoy a range of activities covering all interests, abilities and mobility styles.
Activities include crafts, baking, massage and beauty treatments and reading/sewing groups.
Displaying Ben's framed picture seemed the perfect way to bring the young talent of Oldham together with it’s older citizens.
Manager of the home, Johanne Bradburn said: "The reception area has a real wow factor and it’s great to have this space now that we’re safely welcoming more visitors back into the home.
"To have such a special piece of art on the wall from such a talented local photographer means the world.”
The image Ben shared with Royley House (above) shows an adult Long Eared Owl which had just fed its chicks and was perched perfectly in the forest with the sun setting behind.
Seventeen-year-old Ben is extremely dedicated to his work and shares the photographs he takes on his Instagram @_blhphotography
Ben started taking pictures at the age of 13 and has built an impressive portfolio while also now studying at Oldham Sixth Form College.
He sais: "My favourite thing about wildlife photography has always been showing other people, and sharing the things I see on a camera with others in person so they can receive some of the enjoyment that I receive out of it as well.
"It's also nice to follow the stories of individual animals and watch them grow, as well as being able to have a small insight into their lives and behaviour.”
