Intrepid teddy bears will be taking to the air in a fundraising drive at St Chad’s Church in Uppermill.
The daredevil bears will tackle a zip-wire challenge as part of a drive to pay to provide an accessible access ramp to the church.
The Oldham Mountain Rescue team have constructed a perilous zip-line from the top of the church tower, where children can watch their cuddly toy fly from the top and meet them safely at the bottom.
The daredevil event takes place on Saturday (11th) and places can be booked via the church Facebook page (Saddleworth St Chad) for £5 per bear.
All bears from Paddingtons and Ruperts to Winnies, and more, are welcome to take part, abseiling up to the top of the tower before descending on the wire.
Certificates and badges will be awarded to the brave bears who’ve taken a leap of faith, or if the bear is scared of heights they can still come along and enjoy some fun activities in the church and enjoy an ice cream from the Grandpa Greene's.
