Oldham's overall Covid cases remain the highest across Greater Manchester

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Oldham is now 37,666 - and is the highest rate across Greater Manchester, and the 5th highest across the UK.

The cumulative rate is 15,851 per 100,000 people, meaning Oldham has the 3rd highest rate in the North West.

However, Oldham has seen a drop in new cases over the last 7 days (down from 795 to 646).  The 7-day rate remains the 4th highest across Greater Manchester at 272 per 100,000 population and above the England average rate of 263 per 100,000 population.

Over the last 28 days, positive case numbers remain high across most age groups across the borough, but were highest amongst secondary school-age children and young adults.

Six new deaths were recorded this week.

As of 14 September, there has been 154,085 (76.3%) of Oldham’s registered population aged 16 or over vaccinated with their first dose, and there has been 139,400 (69.0%) of Oldham’s registered population aged 16 or over vaccinated with their second dose.
