Murder investigation opens after man dies in disturbance in Derker

Police were called to Frances Street, Derker
Two men have been charged in connection with a serious assault after a man died following an incident in Derker.
Police were called around 9.30am on Friday (15th October) to Frances Street after reports of a disturbance.
Emergency services attended and the victim, 60 year old Bob Payne, was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
Two men have been charged in relation to the incident.
Christopher Kennedy (27/01/96) of Yorkshire Street, Oldham, has been charged with Section 47 Assault. He has been remanded in custody.
Jamie Kennedy (04/10/97) of Yorkshire Street, Oldham, has been charged with Section 18 Assault. He has been remanded in custody.
Mr Payne died yesterday whilst still in hospital. A murder investigation has since been launched by Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team.

Police remained on the scene until yesterday whilst enquires continued.
