The Covid weekly data for Oldham
The latest Covid figures for Oldham, show a slight drop in the weekly infection rate.
The figure for Oldham now stands at 345 (per 100,000), the third lowest 7-day rate across Greater Manchester. It also compares favourably with the England average of 453.
However, the Government signalled this week that if the rates don’t start to come down and pressure on the NHS does not ease, then new restrictions may have to be considered.
Figures for Oldham show that in the last 28 days, positive case numbers remain high across most age groups but were highest amongst secondary school age children. Infections in the 10-19 age group were more than twice as high as the next highest group (40-49).
The ward with the highest 7 day rate (per 100,000) is Saddleworth South (750), followed by Failsworth East (596). The lowest rate is in Coldhurst (119)
As of week ending 8 October 2021 there has been a total of 803 Covid-19 deaths to Oldham residents, with four new deaths this week, double the previous weeks figures.
12,367 of Oldham’s registered population have received their booster jab.
