He is due to appear before Tameside Magistrates Court today (Friday 29 October).
At around 12.10pm on Wednesday 27 October 2021 police were called to reports of a collision between a moped and a Hyundai on Hattersley Road West in Hyde.
Emergency services attended and the moped rider got into a Hyundai and threatened the driver with a knife, asking him to drive off.
The driver refused, the moped rider got out of the car, and assaulted a police officer before making off.
The moped rider then approached a car engineer who was working on a Mercedes on Pudding Lane and pushed him, before attempting to make off in the Mercedes.
Following this, he then got into a Corsa on Honiton Avenue, which was being driven by a 56-year-old woman, and threatened her to drive.
The woman got out of the car and the moped rider made off in it before abandoning the car on Abbey Gardens and getting onto a bus.
Police stopped the bus and the moped rider attempted to escape through the fire escape. He was pursued by police and detained.
The moped rider was taken to hospital with a number of injuries believed to have been caused from the initial collision. He has since been treated and discharged.
Whilst at hospital the moped rider assaulted a second police officer.
Both police officers received minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
No-one else reported any injuries.
