Two Oldham men charged following attack on taxi driver which left him in 'critical condition'

Two men from Oldham have been charged following an attack on a taxi driver in Rochdale.
Police were called in the early hours of Saturday morning to reports of an assault taking place along Queensway in Rochdale.
A taxi driver - a man in his 30s - had been assaulted.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a critical condition.
Connor McPartland, 20, of Hollins Road, Oldham, has been charged with section 18 assault and possession of bladed article.
Martin Treacy, 18, of Gawsworth Close, Oldham, has been charged with section 18 assault.
Both men have been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Monday 1st November 2021.
