Oldham 7-day Covid rate now the lowest in Greater Manchester

Date published: 04 November 2021

Oldham's 7-day Covid rate is now 263 (per 100,000 population) meaning the borough now has the lowest 7-day rate in Greater Manchester.

It also remains below the average England rate of 410 (per 100,000 population).

The latest figures show that Oldham had 626 new cases of Covid identified between 24-30 October, a fall of 15% on the previous week.

Postive case numbers remain highest amongst secondary school age children (10-19).

As of 2 November, there has been 159,558 of Oldham’s registered population vaccinated with their first dose, 146,352 vaccinated with their second dose, and 27,446 vaccinated with their booster dose.

The booster is being offered at least 6 months after your last dose. Like previous doses, the vaccine will be given in your upper arm.

Protection against severe disease from the first 2 doses seems to decline very slowly. So don’t worry if your booster vaccine is given a few weeks after the 6 months time-point. The booster dose should help to extend your protection into the next year.
