Ashton and Failsworth MP Angela Rayner met students and tutors at Oldham College to learn more about the facilities on offer for new T-Level courses.

Angela joined Digital learners in the college’s new Agile Workshop to discuss their recent project exploring the outcomes of COP26.

She also met students in the new on-site Simulation Suites which replicate real-world nursery, hospital ward and clinical workplaces in Health & Social Care, Childcare & Education settings where she spoke to learners about their future career plans.

Angela, Labour’s Deputy Leader, said: “School and college visits are my favourite bit of the job and it was great to meet young people who are so enthusiastic in their learning.

"The new facilities at Oldham College will give their learning a real boost and help to prepare them for life in the world of work once they finish their course.”

Alun Francis, Oldham College Principal and Chief Executive, said: “It was great to welcome Angela here and to update her on our exciting plans that are equipping young people and adults with the skills they need to succeed in the new economy.

“She also got to see some our brilliant new facilities - and it was fantastic for her to meet our first-ever T Level learners and to hear why they have chosen this path.”
