Man killed after being hit by a tram

          The man was struck by a tram last night
A man has died after being a hit by a tram yesterday evening.
The accident happeend at the Deansgate-Castlefield tram stop in Manchester city centre.
Police were called to the stop at around 11:10pm last night. Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are now appealing for information
Sergeant Matthew Waggett, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This was a tragic incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened in the moments leading up to the collision, and to fully understand how this collision occurred.
"We would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have been on the Metrolink platforms at Deansgate-Castlefield in the moments leading up to the incident to please get in touch with police as soon as possible.

Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
