What's going on with the bank holidays this Christmas?
Date published: 16 December 2021

The bank holidays fall on different days this year
There are changes to the Christmas bank holidays this year, as Christmas Day and New Years Day both fall on the weekend.
Monday 27th December and Tuesday 28th December are both bank holidays this year, known as 'substitute days'.
The same thing happens the following week, as New Years Day falls on a Saturday. That means Monday 3 January 2022 is a bank holiday.
Unfortunately, once the New Year bank holiday is over, we don't get another until Good Friday on 15th April.
