Oldham Sixth Form College
Oldham Sixth Form College have moved lessons and tutorials online due to "high levels" of staff absence.
The decision was made this week, following discussions with the Department for Education (DfE) and the public health, health and safety and education teams in Oldham Council.
A message on the college website this morning said: "We have reluctantly taken the decision to move lessons and tutorials online from Wednesday 15th December to Friday 17th December, this will be following your usual timetable. Students please check your email for information"
The move to online learning will continue until the end of the week, which marks the beginning of the 2-week Christmas break.
A spokesperson for Oldham Sixth Form College said: "We have reluctantly taken the decision to move lessons and tutorials online from Wednesday 15th December to Friday 17th December.
"This is for Health and Safety reasons due to high levels of unavoidable staff absence and we have worked closely with colleagues in the Department for Education (DfE) and in the public health, health and safety and education teams in Oldham Council in arriving at this decision."
It's unclear if the situation will continue in the new term, which begins on Tuesday 4 January.
