The centre is open today and tomorrow
Werneth & Cathedral Pharmacy’s vaccination centre is offering a walk-in Covid-19 booster vaccination service tomorrow.
Following the rise in cases of the Omicron variant of the virus, the government brought their vaccination goals forward to vaccinate all eligible over-18s by the end of the year.
Werneth & Cathedral Pharmacy’s vaccination centre is offering Walk-in jabs to all eligible individuals, as well as to anyone who books via the National Booking Service.
Booster jabs can be given 8 weeks after your second Covid jab.
The vaccination site is located at Pakistani Community Centre, Marlborough St, Oldham, OL4 1EG.
Over the last seven days, Oldham has experienced a 48% increase in COVID-19 cases, however, the number of deaths and hospital admissions are still lower than last year.
Several studies have shown that boosters significantly increase in protection against illness from Covid-19. A study by the UK Health Security Agency found that two weeks after a booster dose, protection levels increased to 93.1% for those who had AstraZeneca for their first two doses and 94% for those who had Pfizer.
Walk-in opening times for Werneth & Cathedral Pharmacy’s vaccination centre are as follows:
● 22-23 Dec: 9:30am - 12:30pm
