Investigation after two armed robbers strike at Oldham Post Office

An investigation is underway after two blade wielding men, held up a post office in Oldham during a robbery on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. 

Police officers, including those from the Crime Scene Investigation Unit, attended the post office on Oxford Street in Werneth, after being called at 10.30 am. 

A cordon was put in place around the scene for around four hours. 

Police say two men threatened staff with a 'bladed weapon' and left with a 'sum of money'.

No one was hurt in the robbery and no arrests have been made at this stage. 

Police are now appealing for information. 

GMP said in a statement: "We were called to reports of a robbery at the Post Office on Oxford Street, Werneth, Oldham, at about 10:30am today (3 May 2022). Two men entered the premises and, after threatening staff with a bladed weapon, left with a sum of money.

"No-one was injured, no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
