Thirteen members of Oldham Mountain Rescue team responded to a call on Saturday from North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, requesting assistance with treatment and the evacuation of a female who had suffered an ankle injury while walking in the Dovestones area.
The callout officer made contact and established the location as Ashway Rocks, which allowed the team to rendezvous with NWAS paramedics and transport the them almost all the way to the scene in their off road buggy, OM5.
After a medical assessment, the casualty was taken back down the hill in OM5 and transferred to the NWAS ambulance.
Said OMRT leader Rob Tortoiseshell: “We wish her all the best for a speedy recovery.”
The team were involved for one hour and 15 minutes.
