Fire officers have described a disposable barbecue-caused fire on moorland above Oldham last night (Monday) as 'thoughtless and irresponsible'.
The Oldham Fire Team (@oldhamfireteam) Tweeted: "Crews from Oldham were out again last night dealing with a fire in moorland caused by a disposable BBQ.
"Fortunately our crews were able to bring the fire under control by this morning.
"Having a BBQ (or any fire) on the moors is thoughtless and irresponsible in this extreme weather."
The news comes after a fresh investigation was promised just yesterday morning in the wake of overnight fires near Dovestone, one of Oldham's favourite beauty spots.
