Misconduct proceedings will recommence following police officer's court appearance

Police Sergeant Richard Proctor is based within GMP's City of Manchester division
A Greater Manchester Police officer has been charged with offences relating to inappropriate use of police IT systems.
Police Sergeant Richard Proctor, aged 40, who is based within GMP's City of Manchester division, has been charged with the following offences:
• 1x count of enabling unauthorised access to a computer program/data.
• 1x count of obtaining/disclosing personal data.
• 1x count of knowingly or recklessly obtaining or disclosing personal data without consent of the controller.
He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on September 15, 2022.
GMPs Professional Standards Branch will recommence misconduct proceedings on conclusion of the criminal investigation.
