Richelle Walsh, the much-loved lady who takes care of customers at Oldham's only mainline railway station at Greenfield, was awarded the BEM in the New Years Honours list of 2012.
She has been wearing her medal today as a mark of respect following Monday's funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Richelle said: "I attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace with my husband Trevor in the summer of 2013.
"There we saw the Queen and Prince Phillip.
"It was an unforgettable experience and a memory I will always treasure.”
