Commenting on the sacking of Chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng, Debbie Abrahams MP, Oldham East and Saddleworth said:
“This is another calamitous event in the five week reign of Liz Truss’ premiership which is already having real life consequences for people across Oldham and Saddleworth, for example increases in mortgages and rents. This follows 12 years of Conservative governments all of whom have left ordinary people poorer. They can’t continue to wreak their havoc. They have no legitimacy. The country needs a general election now.
Only Labour offers the leadership and ideas Britain needs to get us out of this mess.”
