Widespread problems with mobile phones, internet and social medía are being reported across wide areas of Saddleworth and surrounding areas.
People are reporting failure on their mobile phones, iPad links and with message delivery.
Vodafone have acknowledged issues with their network.
They posted on social media: “There's a problem with our mobile network in this area at the moment, that may be causing issues with your service.
"We're sorry if you're experiencing any disruption.
"We know how frustrating this can be.
"Rest assured, we're working hard to get things up and running again as quickly as we can.
"Thanks for your patience.
"As soon as we have any further updates, we'll let you know here.”
A separate unidentified social media post pointed to a radio/telecommunications mast at Wharmton, a hill overlooking Uppermill and Greenfield.
A post read: "Sorry, a phone mast close to you isn't working.
"To fix the mast, we need to get into the site.
"We're talking to the landlord and will enter as soon as we can.
"In the meantime, you might have some trouble with your calls, texts and data.
"We'Il update you by Friday, 4th November 2022."
Engineers working on behalf of Vodafone are believed to have requested access to the mast site this morning (Monday), so they can further investigate.
