Teenager road death - pair remanded in custody

Two men charged in connection with the tragic death of Oldham teenager Alisha Goup have been remanded in custody.
Omar Choudhury (aged 21) and Hamidur Rahman (23) have been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after Alisha was struck by a BMW while walking home from college on Rochdale Road last Thursday (February 23).
At Manchester Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday), the local pair spoke only to confirm their names.
They were both remanded in custody, and will next appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on April 3.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Rochdale Road in Coldhurst at approximately 1:30pm on Thursday following the collision.
Alisha was pronounced dead at the scene.
Choudhury, of Broadway, Oldham, and Rahman, of Tilbury Street, Oldham, will next appear in court on April 3 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
