Serving Greater Manchester Police officer due in court charged with rape and false imprisonment

A serving Greater Manchester Police officer has been charged with rape and false imprisonment.

On Tuesday (February 28), a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and was taken into custody for further questioning.

Yesterday (Thursday, Christopher Henderson, who was posted to GMP’s City of Manchester district, has been charged with the following offences:

4 x counts of rape

False imprisonment

He will attend Manchester and Salford Magistrates court on later today (Friday).

This follows the news earlier today about a former GMP officer, Wesley Bishop, who messaged a sex worker about pricing while on duty and was barred from serving in the police.
