Local accountant Jim appointed Oldham RL's new chief financial officer

The five new directors of Oldham RLFC (1997) Ltd have announced local accountant Jim Minton as a sixth director and a man who will be the new board's chief financial officer.

Mr Minton is the owner of J W Minton and Co, High Street, Lees and was announced as a sixth member of the board when the new owners had a meet-and-greet session at Boundary Park with various groups, including volunteer workers, backroom staff, Yeds Supporters, the Players' Association, the Vestacare Stadium Ground Safety Officer and his assistants, the club's media team and other interested parties, including club ambassador Adrian Alexander.

The meeting was led by former player-coach Mike Ford, who will be the managing director and who will run the club on a day-to-day basis.

Local business man Gary Kershaw will be responsible for the business, sponsorship and commercial side of the operation, while Haydn Walker, who worked for the RFL for ten years, will have charge of the club's dealings with the governing body, its IMG grading and its partners.

Simon Winnard. a founder member of Rugby Oldham and a man with media experience, will deal, among other things, with PR and social media, while the remaining member of the managerial team, Mick Harrington, will assist across all areas and in whatever capacity he can help at any particular time.

The new board's first home game is the derby clash with Rochdale Hornets at the Vestacare Stadium tomorrow night (Friday, kick-off 7.30pm).
