Mahdlo Youth Zone chiefs have announced that their recent 'Make a Difference with Your Donation' fundraising campaign has raised more than £32,000, thanks to the generous support of the local community.

Throughout the two-month-long campaign, donations were matched thanks to local business Rowan Ashworth.

The campaign was a resounding success, with donations flooding in from individuals and businesses alike, all eager to support Mahdlo Youth Zone's mission to provide a safe and welcoming space for young people to learn, grow, and develop.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated to our 'Make a Difference with Your Donation' campaign," said Lucy Lees, Chief Executive of Mahdlo Youth Zone.

"The response from the community has been overwhelming.

"We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.

"Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we can continue to provide the support and guidance that young people need to succeed."

Rowan Ashworth, Managing Director at Rowan Ashworth Ltd, added: “The generosity from the Oldham community is clearly evident to see from the total amount raised.

"It is a clear recognition of the amazing work the Mahdlo team does for our young people.”

The funds raised through the campaign will go towards providing a wide range of activities and services for young people aged 8-19, including sports, arts and mentoring.

Mahdlo Youth Zone in Oldham is open for young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 with disabilities or additional needs, and is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment where young people can develop their skills, explore their interests, and connect with others in their community.

Claire Crossfield, Mahdlo's Fundraising Manager, added: “The communities of Oldham once again have stepped up and answered our call for help.

"We’ve had people run marathons, dress as giant bananas, bake cakes, make donations and pledge their support for Oldham’s young people.

"Together, we are making a real difference in the lives of young people.”
