Vandals slammed after 'mindless' damage to Grade II listed structure in Uppermill

Police are investigating after a Grade II listed structure next to St Chad's War Memorial in Uppermill was vandalised.
Oldham Council have shared pictures on Facebook today (Monday) that show the damage which had been done to the structure.
The top of the pillar has been knocked off, sustaining major damage, while there is also damage to the base of the structure.

A post on the council's 'I love Oldham' Facebook page read: "This mindless act of vandalism has taken place on the Grade 2 listed structure next to St Chad's War Memorial, Uppermill.
"The incident has been reported to the police.
"We are looking into repairing the structure.
"We urge anyone with information to please call 101 to catch the culprits who did this appalling crime."
