College friends organise Shaw fund-raiser for Frankie's family

Date published: 17 May 2023

Three close friends of Frankie Jules-Hough have organised a special fund-raising event in a bid to raise money for the family of the 38-year-old, who tragically died following a motorway accident at the weekend.

Frankie was travelling with her two sons, Rocky and Tommy, and her nephew Tobias, four, when the crash took place.

The children remain in hospital.

The special event will take place at the Shawside venue on Grains Road in Shaw, on June 10, between 1-6pm.

Three of Frankie's friends - Ami Carter, Robert Hamilton and Adele Milne - have organised the event, and are now looking for people to donate raffle prizes, to borrow a PA system, and are seeking a couple of childrens entertainers to donate an hour of their time.

If you can help, please contact either Ami, Robert and Adele via the Facebook invite page link here

Frankie, Ami, Robert and Adele became friends after they attended Oldham College together, where they studied performing arts.

"Words cannot express what (Frankie's) family and friends are going through now, not to mention her poor boys who now have to grow up without their mummy and sister they never got to meet," a GoFundMe page - set up by Debbie Wright in a bid to support Frankie's family - reads.

So far, a total approaching £44,000 has been pledged.

On Saturday (May 13) at around 3:10pm, GMP were called to reports of a serious collision between two vehicles travelling southbound on the M66.

Frankie was left with serious injuries after the crash.

Frankie, her two sons, Rocky, two, Tommy, nine, and her nephew, Tobias, four, were taken to hospital by air ambulance after the crash took place between Pilsworth Interchange and Simister Island.

The children remain in critical care, but  tragically, Frankie died in hospital on Monday as a result of her injuries.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Adil Iqbal (aged 22), of Hope Street in Accrington, has been charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon and was further remanded into custody to appear at court a later date.
