‘Mumpreneur’ Wendy is on a mission to help local parents

A ‘mumpreneur’ is on a mission to help local parents by holding preloved baby and children’s markets in Oldham.

Wendy Chalmers, who is 48, is running a ‘Boutique Baby Sale’ at the Radclyffe School in Chadderton this coming weekend - giving local families the chance to buy and sell second-hand goods.

Mum of three Wendy started her franchise business at the end of 2021 after attending other Boutique Baby Sales as a customer for many years.

This is her second event in Oldham and also runs events around Rochdale and Stockport.

Wendy said: "I am very excited to bring our events back to Oldham and give local mums and dads the chance to buy their essential baby and kids' items at a fraction of the price of buying new.

“After attending many Boutique Baby Sale events I have seen what a great opportunity they are for parents to pick up good quality items at more than affordable prices.

"It is great to see these items being passed on for other families to use, instead of being thrown away.

“Children grow fast, so as well as being expensive, thousands of tonnes of kids clothes and toys end up in land fill each year.

"We want to help our local communities to stop throwing out the items they no longer need and to take pride in buying and selling second-hand items.”

Wendy is holding her latest event at Radclyffe School in Chadderton on Sunday (September 17) from 11am to 12.30pm.

Entrance costs £2 and children are free.
