Community fundraiser Saddleworth Round Table are appealing for marshals to help at their legendary Santa Dash next month.

They are seeking an additional 10 marshals for the event which takes place on Saturday, December 2 in Uppermill.

Marshals are needed for a midday briefing in the Uppermill  park.

Then the dash starts at 2pm, with the first shift finished by 3pm.

The Saddleworth Round Table will provide you with a voucher to redeem at the bar for a soft drink / mulled wine / beer for after the dash.

Hardcore volunteers are then required again from 4.15pm to assist with road closures for the Winter Wonderland parade.

This year the event will be held on the King George V park and car park in central Uppermill.

It will kick off from midday with market stalls and refreshments in the park to supplement the pre-dash build-up, with Elliot Eastwick co-ordinating a packed on-stage line-up.

The yearly sell-out event is expecting full capacity of 1,800 participants taking part in the dash that leaves a packed Uppermill village leading into Greenfield round the bridal path and back into the village for post-dash fun.

The fun continues into the evening, culminating in an appearance from the real Santa who will be paraded down the high street on the rush cart - more detail to follow on that part of the event.

If you can spare the time to help as a marshal, please contact Andy on 07882 140010 or follow the Saddleworth/RT Facebook page.
