Victim was dragged by moving car following Chadderton robbery

At around 3:30pm yesterday (Thursday), police officers were called to reports of a robbery on Hunt Lane in Chadderton
Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Oldham District are appealing for further information following a robbery in Chadderton.
At around 3:30pm on Thursday, officers were called to reports of a robbery on Hunt Lane in Chadderton.
It is understood that four unknown offenders opened a van door and stole multiple tools from within the van before attempting to make off in a silver Ford Focus.
The victim is then believed to have run to the Ford Focus, and tried to grab the tools from the front passenger seat of the offending vehicle.
An offender then grabbed hold of the victim’s arm and proceeded to drag him down the street while the vehicle was moving.
When the victim broke free, the offenders made off from the scene.
Shortly after the victim called the police and officers attended the scene of the incident.
Officers are now appealing to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or who have any information including any dash cam or CCTV footage that could aid the investigation further.
Detective Sergeant Adshead, of GMP’s Oldham District, said: “Thankfully, the victim of this crime did not receive serious injuries and we are doing everything we can to establish the full circumstances and locate those responsible.
"We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw anyone acting suspiciously either before or after the incident on or nearby to Hunt Lane in Chadderton or who saw the vehicle in question.
"Anyone with information, no matter how small, should get in touch with police by calling 0161 856 4521 or 101 quoting log number 2190 of 23/11/2023."
