A mountain rescue team ambulance of yesteryear
Oldham Mountain Rescue Team are planning a series of events to celebrate their 60th anniversary this year.
And, in addition, alongside thanking the community for their continued unwavering support and generosity, they will be raising awareness of their work.
Said OMRT leader Rob Tortoiseshell: “Our diamond anniversary is a significant landmark and the communities support remains fundamental to our continued success and operation.
"We look forward to celebrating with you in the year.”
Oldham Mountain Rescue Team is a voluntary organisation whose objective is “to save life and alleviate distress, primarily in upland and mountain areas” without cost or obligation.
Their team of 50-plus volunteers provide a professional rescue service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
They are funded almost entirely by generous public donations.
