Dr Taylor rebuilt the whole vehicle in 2019
Over the years a kind-hearted, unassuming doctor has come to a community’s assistance … with his own specially-built snow plough.
Doctor Andrew Taylor from Saddleworth bought the machine when his wife was very ill with cancer and snow was threatened in November and December, 2011.
He said: “That would be just when we might need medical, nursing or ambulance attention down roads that are council ploughing targets - often put back by new snowfalls.
“I spotted the Land Rover on a sales website when my brother was looking for a replacement Discovery 2.
"It came reconditioned and with the plough included at a very good price.“
He added: ”It has been out at least five times every year 2012 to 2019, but fewer times 2020 to now.
"But at least once every year.
“My brother and I rebuilt the whole vehicle in 2019 and I’m ready to roll anytime the local community need any additional back up.”
